Description
The canvas shelter half has been in military use since the Civil War and probably before. Pup tent
It is a simple kind of tent designed to provide temporary shelter and concealment. Two sheets of canvas or a similar material(the halves) are fastened together with straps or buttons or snaps to form a larger surface. With the half design, each soldier can carry his half and put them together with a mate or more to form the larger tent. Poles and pegs along with guy lines allow tent to be “pitched” and form an inverted V structure.
